Phase IV of Road Complete

Phase IV has been completed, and we have reached the edge of the property.  Now the first step to Phase I of the LTA Property Development is to make a turn around onto the property.  This will allow us to easily turn the cart around as well as begin filling that particular area of the property.

Thanks for your continued prayers and support!

Phase IV Nearly Complete

With Phase IV almost complete, we will now provide an overview of the progress on the road since we began almost two months ago.  Some of the phases have gone quicker than others.

Volunteers started on Phase I which was to build up the road so a golf cart could pass about 100 yards.  The Second Phase was to reach the River Jordan including a turn around before it.  Phase III was to make the Jordan passable and then cross over it by golf cart.  By this time the road is definitely looking like a road instead of a driveway.  Phase IV was to reach the property’s edge.  Phase V will be an ongoing phase for several years including widening and smoothing out the road as well as planting trees along the side.

After reaching the property, we will begin Phase I of the LTA property development.  The joy of working on this project is believing one day at a time and seeing God supply the need.

Phase III Complete

We drove over the Jordan today!  With another load of core (gravel) delivered yesterday (by the grace of God), it was necessary to drive over the Jordan to get further down the road!  What an accomplishment to have finished Phase III of the LTA road – one step closer to the property.

One More Load

The road is getting longer as we approach the property for LTA.  This past Thursday we called in another load of hard core (rock).  Friday morning we waited for the call only to find out the barge was empty and wouldn’t have another load until this Wednesday.  Pleasantly surprised, we received a call this morning (Monday) saying the truck was on the way (to the bridge).  We grabbed our gear and headed out the door in thankfulness.  God continues to supply, support and defend.  This is especially good since rainy season is fast approaching.

A lineman (whose crew has been digging in power lines not far from our road) stopped to talk to us today.  He said the rain the past couple of nights has really hurt his work; they have to pump out water from a ditch that is about 5 feet deep and 150 feet long.

Meanwhile, our road is sitting great above the water.  We continue to press on!

Phase II Complete

Phase II of the road was completed which included a turn around to the end of the road at a small body of water we call “the River Jordan”.  This is not the actual end of the road but another opportunity to believe God, thus the name “the River Jordan”.  Phase III is crossing the River Jordan.

Rock Delivered

After much anticipation and prayer the load of rock was hauled, delivered and dumped on the road.  It was a long morning from the time of pickup until the load was moved away from the main road.  The first challenge was catching up with the dump truck before it reached the bridge.  Without the pass that was granted by the San Pedro Town Council, the truck would not be allowed to cross which was to our advantage.  We caught up with the truck half way through town.  From that point on, the dump truck followed us to the property.  Based upon our request to move the gravel as far into the side road as possible, the complying yet hesitant driver backed the truck onto the LTA road.  Soon after putting the truck in reverse with the full load, it became buried to the axle in mud.  This unexpected event led to hours of maneuvering equipment to finally relieve the truck and leave the gravel intact.  Lesson learned:  God’s grace is sufficient for us!
